Lisheen T2401 - Sired by Lisheen Q24

Lisheen T2401 is a young bull that is sired by Lisheen Q24. Q24 is sired by Sumo L153 which makes him a grandson of Sumo F154. Q24 was bred with a view to having a medium framed bull that should produce carcasses with good marble scores but primarily for marble fineness. His first steer progeny will soon be on feed so a proper assessment of his ultimate value as a carcass sire can be assessed.

T2401’s dam is sired by Mirragong Mirra 921 (Haruki 2 son) and is out of a Sumo F126 sired cow. Both of these bulls have been producing high quality carcasses so it is expected that with F154 on the sire side that, despite his ebvs, T2401 should prove to be a sire that will produce quality carcasses. He may be best suited to an F1 program.

T2401 will be further assessed before being fertility tested and freeze branded before June 2024.
